Collection can be from a shop, a warehouse, a private seller or your own storage unit. Delivery goes to the room you want it in, not just the kerb. We're happy to wait while you check it over. If a bed or flat-pack piece was taken apart to get it out, it goes back together at your end.

Store and retailer collections

Bought something in store and the delivery slot is two weeks away or costs more than the item? We collect from retail parks across Bradford, Leeds and Kirklees: Forster Square, Thornbury, Birstall and Crown Point among them, same day or next day when the diary allows. Just send us the order number and the store's collection instructions, and we'll collect from the loading bay, click-and-collect desk or goods-out door the store uses.

Passing furniture on to family or friends

Not every big item comes from a shop. A wardrobe going to a friend in Wibsey or a dining table over to a new flat across town is the same job, priced on the time and the distance. We don't take old items away, so if the thing it replaces has nowhere to go, we can shift it to another room, out to the garage or outside, ready for a council bulky waste collection that you book with the council.

What types of items can you transport?

If it is under 3.4m long and fits the 1.3m by 1.7m space between the wheel arches, or comes apart to fit, it should go in the van. Send a photo and the measurements if you're unsure.

Can you collect items from stores or online sellers?

Yes. Retail park showrooms, trade counters on the industrial estates, warehouses, storage units and private sellers are all fine. Send the order number and whatever the store's collection note says, because a goods-out door will generally want that reference before anyone loads anything onto the van.

Do you help carry items into the property?

Yes, and into the room it is going in rather than the hallway. Loading and unloading are in the price, not an extra. What is worth telling us beforehand is what sits between the front door and that room, because a wardrobe that clears a terraced doorway can still fail at the turn halfway up the stairs.

Are items secured during transport?

Everything is blanket-wrapped and strapped to the tie-down points along the van walls. Tall things like wardrobes and bookcases travel flat or strapped against the side rather than standing free, since the climbs in and out of the Bradford valley will move anything that is only leaning on something else.

Do I need to prepare the item before collection?

Drawers emptied and taped shut or taken out, glass shelves lifted out of cabinets, and appliances unplugged with the water off at the valve. Mirrored doors and loose glass are the parts most at risk in transit, so if a flat-pack wardrobe has one, tell us and it comes off and travels wrapped separately.

Can you move very heavy or oversized furniture?

Usually. The limit is rarely the load space; it is the doorway and the staircase at one end or the other. A trolley, a set of straps, taking the legs off, or dismantling a bed or flat-pack piece deals with most of it. Send a photo of the item and a photo of the doorway it has to pass through, and you get a straight answer before the day rather than on it.
