House Removals Bradford

Moving house in Bradford shouldn't mean paying big-firm removal prices or squeezing your life into a hire van you've never driven. Our house removals service gives you a driver, a fully equipped Ford Transit Long Wheelbase van, and help at both ends, for a price that makes sense for a normal-sized home.

A house removals service built for real Bradford homes

Most of the moves we do in Bradford are two- and three-bedroom terraces and semis, the kind of home that's too big for a car full of boxes but nowhere near big enough to justify a 7.5-tonne lorry and a three-man crew. That's exactly the gap a long wheelbase man with a van fills. With 3.4 metres of load length and 1.7 metres of standing height, a typical two-bed house usually goes in one or two carefully packed loads.

We've moved families out of back-to-backs in Great Horton, up to new-builds in Apperley Bridge, and across town from Wibsey to Idle. Tight Victorian staircases, on-street parking, and steep Bradford hills are part of the job, not a surprise. If your street needs a parking suspension or a permit, we'll tell you in advance so moving day isn't held up.

What happens on moving day

We arrive at the agreed time, usually first thing, so you're settled in your new place by the afternoon. Before anything is lifted we walk the property with you, agree what's going and what's staying, and plan the load order so heavy furniture goes in first and boxes fill the gaps.

Everything is loaded by us. Sofas, beds, wardrobes and white goods are blanket-wrapped and strapped to the van's tie-down points so nothing shifts on the M606. At the other end we unload straight to the room you point at, not a pile in the hallway, and reassemble anything we took apart.

  • Pre-move call to confirm access, parking and timings
  • Careful loading with blankets, straps and floor protection
  • Dismantling and reassembly of beds and flat-pack furniture where needed
  • Room-to-room unloading at your new home
  • Optional packing help the day before

Local moves in Bradford and further afield

Most of our house removals are within Bradford district, Shipley, Bingley, Thornton, Queensbury, Eccleshill and everywhere in between, or across to neighbouring towns. We regularly move customers between Bradford and Leeds, Halifax and Keighley, and a run down the M62 to Huddersfield is all in a morning's work.

Moving out of Yorkshire altogether? We take on long distance removals nationwide when booked in advance, from Manchester and Sheffield to London and Scotland.

Why book a man with a van instead of a removal company?

Traditional removal firms quote for a crew, a lorry and a survey. That's the right answer for a five-bedroom detached house. For everyone else it's expensive and inflexible. A man with a van gives you the same care with a lot less overhead, one experienced driver who loads properly, a van sized for the job, and pricing that reflects a few hours' work rather than a day-long production.

You also get flexibility. Need to squeeze in a trip to the tip or a stop at your parents' garage on the way? Ask. Want to ride in the van to the new house? There's a seat. Changed the completion date? We'll do our best to move with it.

Frequently asked questions: house removals

How long does a house removal in Bradford take?

A typical two-bedroom house within Bradford takes three to five hours door to door, including loading and unloading. Three-bedroom homes or moves with a lot of furniture may need two loads or a longer day. We'll give you a realistic estimate when you book.

Will everything fit in one van?

For a one- or two-bedroom property, usually yes. The long wheelbase Transit has around 11 cubic metres of usable space. For larger homes we either plan two runs (fine for local moves) or discuss a second van for the day.

Do you dismantle beds and wardrobes?

Yes. We bring tools and will take apart beds, flat-pack wardrobes and dining tables that won't fit through doors, then rebuild them at the new address.

Do I need to pack everything myself?

Boxes need to be packed and sealed before we arrive unless you've booked our packing service. Furniture and appliances are wrapped and protected by us on the day.

Are you insured?

We carry goods-in-transit and public liability cover. If you have particularly valuable or fragile items, tell us when booking so we can plan how best to protect them.

Can you move me on a weekend?

Yes, we work seven days a week, 8am to 8pm. Saturdays are our busiest day for house removals, so book early if you need a specific weekend date.
