What makes a flat move different
Whether it's a converted warehouse apartment in Little Germany, a modern block near Forster Square, or a flat above a shop on Manningham Lane, the challenge is rarely the amount of stuff. It's getting it in and out cleanly. We ask the right questions up front: Is there a lift and does it need booking? Where can the van legally stop? Is there a service entrance? Does the building manager need a copy of our insurance?
On the day, the driver brings a trolley, blankets and straps, wraps doorframes and banisters in the communal areas where needed, and works quickly so the lift or the bay isn't blocked for longer than necessary. How long loading takes depends more on the distance from the door to the van than on the size of the flat, which is why the parking gets settled first.

Sized right for a flat
A long wheelbase Transit suits apartments. Its load space of about 11 cubic metres holds a one-bed flat or a lightly furnished two-bed in one trip, but it's still a van: it parks in an ordinary loading bay or on-street space where a lorry can't. It is about 2.5m tall, so it won't go under most car park height barriers; tell us about yours and we'll plan the nearest place to load.

Renting? The damage that costs deposits in a block is usually not in your flat at all. It is the communal side: a bed frame corner into the plasterboard on a half-landing, or a sofa arm dragged along the paintwork by the lift doors, and the managing agent bills the tenant who was moving that day. Doorframes and the tightest turn get blankets on them before anything heavy comes through, flat-pack wardrobes come down as panels rather than whole, and the flat is left empty so your checkout photos show a bare floor.

There's no lift, can you still move me?
Yes. Flats over shops and older conversions often have no lift, so stairs are part of the plan. Tell us the floor number and whether the staircase turns. A winder halfway up is what decides whether a sofa goes up whole, and that is the part that takes the time.
Where will the van park?
We'll ask about loading bays, permit zones and building access when you book. If a parking suspension or visitor permit is needed, we'll tell you in advance so it's arranged for the day.
Does the building need proof of insurance?
Some managed blocks do, so check with your building manager before the day. Our cover is £10,000 goods in transit and £5m public liability.
Can you do a flat move in the evening?
We work until 8pm seven days a week. An evening move can suit a flat because the loading bay can be quieter then. Book early to secure the slot.
My sofa came in through the window, can you get it out?
We'll take the legs and cushions off and try every angle first. If it genuinely won't go, we'll tell you honestly rather than force it and damage the frame or the doorway.
How much does a flat removal in Bradford cost?
It is one fixed price, agreed before we set off, worked out from how much is going, the floor at each end, whether there is a lift and how close the van can stop.
