A hilltop town, stepped front doors and no rear access
Yeadon sits on top of a hill and the housing was built to follow the slope, which changes a flat move more than people expect. Terraces off High Street and Henshaw Lane have stepped front entrances and no rear access, so a wardrobe comes down an internal staircase, out through the only door, then down a flight of stone steps to a van that is itself standing on a gradient. We chock, we strap the load as we go, and we do not stack tall.
The hilltop core is the other half of the story. High Street, Kirk Lane and Ivegate are narrow, steep and parked on both sides, with almost nowhere to hold a van with a 3.4-metre load. Realistically we work from a short stop close to the door rather than a proper loading position, which means two of us moving briskly and a route worked out before anything is picked up.

Yes, though we plan the approach. Those lanes are narrow with tight turns and a real gradient, and a long-wheelbase van needs a route in that is also a route out. Give us the postcode when you book and we will work it out before the day rather than reversing blind on the morning.
