The two rooms nobody counts until moving week
Two rooms decide how long a Bradford pack takes, and neither of them is a bedroom. The cellar has the tools, the paint tins and the jars; the loft has the suitcases, the decorations and the offcuts of laminate from the last job. A stone through terrace has both, and between them they can fill more boxes than the bedrooms. We count them when we quote, because that is the difference between half a day and a whole one.
The kitchen is the room that breaks things. Crockery is wrapped a piece at a time in paper and packed on edge in small, strong boxes rather than stacked flat, with the gaps filled, because a box with air left in it is what cracks plates. Boxes are taped top and bottom and labelled with the room they are going into, not with what is inside them. You can book packing for the day before your house removal, so you sleep in a packed house and moving day is purely loading and driving.

Materials are included in the price: boxes in mixed sizes, bubble wrap, packing paper, tape, wardrobe boxes and mattress covers. We'll estimate how many boxes your home needs when we quote so there are no surprises.
Packed by the driver who loads the van
There's a practical advantage to having the same person pack and load. Everything is packed with the van in mind: uniform box sizes that stack, heavy things in small boxes, light things in large ones, and fragile boxes marked so they go on top. A load packed that way stacks tight and stays settled on the drive between Bradford and Leeds.

How long does packing a house take?
Allow half a day for a full pack of a two-bedroom house, or most of a day if it has a full cellar and loft. A three-bed takes most of a day. Fragile-only or kitchen packs take two to three hours.
Do I need to buy boxes?
No. Materials are included, and the number of boxes is estimated from your photos when we quote, so include the loft, the cellar and the kitchen cupboards in them.
How much does a packing service cost in Bradford?
It is quoted per home, from how many rooms are being packed, how full the kitchen is, and whether there is a cellar or loft to clear. A fragile-only or kitchen pack costs less than a full house. The price is fixed and agreed before we set off; our prices page explains how it is worked out.
Can I pack some rooms myself to save money?
Of course. You can pack books, clothes and bedding yourself and book us for the kitchen and fragile items only.
Do you pack the day before or on moving day?
The day before, as a rule, so moving day is purely loading. For small flats, packing and moving can happen on the same morning.
Will you unpack at the other end?
If you'd like. Unpacking is booked as extra time and we'll put things where you want them and flatten the empty boxes.
