Packing to a loading window

The semi-pedestrianised stretch of Commercial Street allows loading before ten in the morning and after four in the afternoon; between those times it is buses only. If you are still taping boxes at half past nine, the window is gone and the job slides into the evening. For those addresses we pack the previous day, stack by room in the hall, and arrive on moving morning to carry and load rather than to start sorting cupboards.

Elsewhere in town the shape of the problem changes. Victorian terraces off Marsh Street and Butcher Lane have no rear access and permanent kerbside parking, so everything goes out of the front door to wherever the van has ended up. We bring them. Double-walled boxes in mixed sizes, packing paper, bubble wrap, tape, wardrobe boxes and mattress covers, and more than we expect to need. We estimate the count for your house when we quote, and any boxes we do not open go back in the van with us.
