Frequently Asked Questions
Everything people ask before booking a man with a van in Bradford, in one place. Can't find it? Call or WhatsApp and we'll answer straight away.
General
How far do you travel?
We are based in Bradford and cover all areas within a 1-hour radius across West Yorkshire for collections and moves. We are also willing to travel nationwide for larger or pre-arranged contracts.
What size vehicle do you use?
We operate a fully equipped Ford Transit Long Wheelbase (LWB) van with a 3.4m × 1.3m × 1.7m load space, ideal for house moves, large furniture items and appliances.
Do you help with loading and unloading?
Yes. We assist with loading and unloading your items to ensure everything is handled safely and efficiently. Labour is included in every quote.
Do you offer same-day service?
Same-day or short-notice bookings may be available depending on our schedule. Contact us as early as possible to check availability.
How much does a man with a van cost in Bradford?
It depends on time, distance and volume. Single items across Bradford are our cheapest jobs; a two-bed house move is typically half a day. Send photos and both postcodes for a fixed quote, see our prices page for what affects the cost.
Are you insured?
Yes. We carry goods-in-transit and public liability insurance, and can provide documents to building managers or business customers on request.
House & flat removals
How long does a house removal in Bradford take?
A typical two-bedroom house within Bradford takes three to five hours door to door, including loading and unloading. Three-bedroom homes or moves with a lot of furniture may need two loads or a longer day. We'll give you a realistic estimate when you book.
Will everything fit in one van?
For a one- or two-bedroom property, usually yes. The long wheelbase Transit has around 11 cubic metres of usable space. For larger homes we either plan two runs (fine for local moves) or discuss a second van for the day.
Do you dismantle beds and wardrobes?
Yes. We bring tools and will take apart beds, flat-pack wardrobes and dining tables that won't fit through doors, then rebuild them at the new address.
Do I need to pack everything myself?
Boxes need to be packed and sealed before we arrive unless you've booked our packing service. Furniture and appliances are wrapped and protected by us on the day.
There's no lift, can you still move me?
Yes. Stairs are normal for us. Let us know the floor number when booking so we can allow enough time and bring the right kit; for anything above the third floor we may suggest a second pair of hands.
Where will the van park?
We'll ask about loading bays, permit zones and building access when you book. If a parking suspension or visitor permit is needed, we'll tell you in advance so it's arranged for the day.
Furniture, sofas & appliances
What types of items can you transport?
We regularly move sofas, beds, wardrobes, dining tables, fridges, washing machines, gym equipment, office furniture, and other bulky household or business items. If it fits through a door, it almost certainly fits in the van.
Can you collect items from stores or online sellers?
Yes. We can collect items from retail stores, warehouses, Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree sellers, or private addresses and deliver them directly to you.
Do you help carry items into the property?
Yes, we assist with loading at collection and unloading at delivery, placing items inside the property where access allows.
Will a corner sofa fit in your van?
Yes. A standard corner suite, both sections and a footstool, fits in a single load. Very large modular sofas may need the sections measured first; send us a photo or the dimensions and we'll confirm.
Can you carry a sofa upstairs to a flat?
Yes, as long as the stairwell physically allows it. Tell us the floor and whether there's a lift when booking so we bring the right help.
Do you connect washing machines and cookers?
We'll position the appliance and can reconnect a washing machine's cold feed and waste hose if the fittings are standard. We don't connect gas appliances, that must be done by a Gas Safe engineer.
Can a fridge freezer be transported lying down?
It shouldn't be, and ours never are. Fridges and freezers travel upright and strapped, then we advise leaving them to stand for a few hours before switching on.
Marketplace & store collections
Can you pay the seller for me?
If you'd rather not pay in advance, you can send the agreed cash with us and we'll hand it over on collection once we've checked the item. Just let us know when you book.
What if the item isn't as described?
We'll check it against the listing photos on collection. If something's clearly wrong, damage, missing parts, wrong size, we'll call you before loading so you can decide.
Can you collect when I'm at work?
Yes. You don't need to be present at collection, and for delivery we just need someone to let us in. Many customers arrange delivery for the evening.
How quickly can you collect?
Often the same or next day for local sellers, depending on availability and when the seller is free. Sellers tend to want things gone quickly, so the sooner you send us the details the better.
Do you dismantle items at the seller's house?
If a wardrobe or bed needs taking apart to get it out, we can do that with the seller's agreement. Let us know in advance so we allow time.
Courier & business
Do you offer same-day courier delivery?
Where possible, yes. Same-day and short-notice courier bookings depend on availability, so get in touch as early as you can to check we can fit you in.
What can you deliver as a courier?
From documents and parcels to larger single items, we handle a wide range of courier jobs across Bradford, Keighley, and West Yorkshire, with nationwide delivery available for bigger jobs.
Do you deliver for businesses as well as individuals?
Yes, we work with both residential and commercial customers, including regular business deliveries and one-off collections.
Can you do a regular weekly delivery run?
Yes. Several of our business customers have a fixed weekly or fortnightly slot. Tell us the route and we'll agree a standing price.
Do you invoice, or is it payment on the day?
One-off jobs are paid on the day by bank transfer or card. Regular business customers can be invoiced weekly or monthly.
Long distance
How far will you travel?
Anywhere in mainland Great Britain. We regularly run to London, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and Scotland. Ferry crossings for Northern Ireland or the islands can be discussed on request.
How much notice do you need?
A week is ideal for long distance work, but we can often accommodate shorter notice. Contact us as early as possible with your dates.
Is the price fixed?
Yes. We quote a fixed price that includes fuel, tolls and the driver's time, agreed before you book. There are no mileage surprises on the day.
Can I travel in the van?
There's one passenger seat, so one person can ride along. Most customers travel separately and meet us at the destination.
Do you do return loads?
Sometimes. If you're flexible on dates and we have a van coming back empty from your destination area, we can offer a reduced price. Ask when you enquire.
