The Commercial Street window and the Oulton turning head
Commercial Street is a semi-pedestrianised zone, and loading there happens before ten in the morning or after four in the afternoon. Outside those windows it is buses only, which for a fridge freezer means either timing the job properly or pushing it a long way on a trolley. We would rather book you into the window. It costs nothing and it is the difference between wheeling a machine ten metres and wheeling it the length of the street.
The newer closes at Oulton and Woodlesford look simple on a map and are not. Turning heads are small, cars sit both sides of the block paving and the footpath links between streets are bollarded, so the shortcut your phone suggests does not exist for a long wheelbase van. In practice that is a longer trolley run to the door, and block paving is one of the few surfaces a loaded appliance trolley genuinely dislikes.
What Rothwell appliance delivery & removal usually involves
- Town-centre deliveries are timed for the Commercial Street loading window, before ten in the morning or after four in the afternoon
- The Marsh Street car park is the main town-centre option and the usual place to leave the van for a central job
- Victorian terraces off Marsh Street and Butcher Lane have no rear access and permanent kerbside parking, so appliances go in through the front
- The A61, M621 Junction 7 and the M1 Junction 44 approaches back up with Stourton freight traffic, so we avoid booking a slot into the rush
- We carry and place the appliance, and can reconnect a washing machine's cold feed and waste hose where the fittings are standard. The old unit can leave with us for a household waste recycling centre if you ask at booking

What it costs
The price of a Rothwell appliance delivery comes down to timing and access, whether it lands in the Commercial Street loading window and how far the van has to stop from the door. There's no travel surcharge for coming to Rothwell from Bradford, and you get the price before we set off, not after. See how we quote for the full breakdown.
Frequently asked questions: appliance delivery & removal in Rothwell
What time can you deliver to an address on Commercial Street?
Early or late. The street is semi-pedestrianised and loading runs before ten in the morning and after four in the afternoon, with buses only in between. Book one of those windows and the machine comes off the van almost at the door instead of being wheeled the length of the street.
Can the van get onto the new estates at Oulton and Woodlesford?
Into the estate, yes. Right up to the door, sometimes not, because the closes have small turning heads, parked cars both sides and bollarded footpath links. Send the postcode and we will look at it beforehand and tell you where we expect to have to stop.
Will you take the old fridge freezer away?
Yes, as long as you tell us when you book. It comes out of the kitchen as the new one goes in and leaves with us for a household waste recycling centre. On the Marsh Street and Butcher Lane terraces, with no rear access, doing both in one trip through the front door is worth having.
