Packing a two-up two-down with nowhere to stack the boxes

The long rows of late-Victorian and Edwardian terraces built for the pits were not designed with a moving day in mind. There is no hall to stage boxes in, the stairs come out of the living room, and boxing the kitchen fills the only floor space you had. So we work in a deliberate order, upstairs first, then bring the van as close as it will get and clear each room as it finishes.
