The through-terraces and back-to-backs stepping down off High Street and Henshaw Lane were built tight, and a lot of them have a flight of steps between the front door and the pavement. Carrying a heavy box down steps wants one hand free for the rail, so we pack small and heavy, large and light, and tape every seam.
