Full, part or kitchen-only packing for a Burnley home
A full pack of a larger house in Towneley or Ightenhill is mostly about volume: bigger rooms, full shelves, pictures on the walls and a lot of china. It is spread over the day before the move so the van can be loaded straight away in the morning. Pictures and mirrors are wrapped and boxed on edge, glassware is paper-wrapped piece by piece, and every box carries its room and a short list of what is inside.
A part pack suits a terrace where you have boxed books and clothes yourself and want the breakables done properly. The kitchen is the slowest room to pack, so it is the one most worth handing over. A student room is the other end of the scale: bedding, books, a monitor and a kettle, packed in a morning and labelled so a house share's boxes do not get mixed up. Unpacking at the other end can be added as extra time.
Choosing how much packing to book in Burnley
- Every box, roll of tape, sheet of paper and wardrobe carton comes with the van
- Drawers are emptied into boxes, since furniture travels lighter and safer without contents
- Passports, jewellery, medicines and keys are best kept with you rather than packed
- In a Towneley or Ightenhill house, put the loft, the cellar and any garage in your photos, as they can add hours
- A Sandygate Hall room is packed and moved in one morning, so check the halls' move-out time before you book

Packing Services in Burnley: your questions
Can you pack only the kitchen?
Yes. Kitchen-only or breakables-only packs are booked as shorter jobs, and you box the rest yourself.
Should I leave clothes in the drawers?
No, take them out. Full drawers make furniture heavy and can break the runners, so box the contents.
Can a house share's rooms be packed separately?
Yes. Each room's boxes get the person's name as well as the room, so nothing gets mixed up at the other end.
Can you unpack at the new house as well?
Yes, booked as extra time. The kitchen and the beds are done first, then the other rooms in the order you choose, and the emptied boxes stay with you.
