Westwood terrace or Molescroft close: how a Beverley house move differs
The terraces between North Bar and the Westwood were built with no through roads and narrow lanes behind them, so on Grayburn Lane, Westwood Road or St Mary's Terrace the van stands at the front and furniture goes out through the front door. Most of those streets fall inside the Beverley controlled parking zone, where between 8am and 6pm a vehicle without a permit may stay one hour in the central zone, including the Westwood terraces, two hours in the outer streets. A full house takes longer than that, so the stopping point and any visitor permit are sorted when you book.
Molescroft is a different job. Most of it was built on greenfield land in the late 1990s, as closes and drives off Molescroft Road, Woodhall Way and Lockwood Road, so the van usually backs onto a drive and the carry is short. Woodmansey, on the south side by Minster Way, is laid out the same way. The heavier part of a Beverley move is often at the other end, if the new house is a terrace with a tight stair or a flat in Flemingate.
Getting a Beverley house ready for moving day
- If you live in the controlled parking zone and hold a resident permit, buy a one-day visitor permit for moving day so the one-hour limit does not apply
- Pasture Terrace has no road link to the streets south of it, so mention it when you book and the approach is planned
- Check the race fixtures if you live near the Westwood: Beverley Racecourse is scheduled to race on 19 days in 2026
- Check whether a wardrobe or bed frame will turn on the landing of a terrace stair; a photo from the top step helps
- Upright pianos are moved with notice; send pictures of any steps outside each house

Room count, the walk between kerb and front door, stairs at either address and the chance of a second trip decide the hours; one fixed price, with the Bradford drive included, is agreed in advance. See how we quote for the full breakdown.
House Removals in Beverley: your questions
How much do removals in Beverley cost?
There is one fixed price for the whole move, set before the van leaves Bradford. Furniture volume, the number of floors, the walk between van and door and the miles from one house to the other are what move it up or down, so a set of room photos and the two postcodes give an exact figure.
Will a three-bedroom Beverley house fit in one load?
It depends on the contents more than the bedrooms. A sparsely furnished Westwood terrace can go in a single trip, but a Molescroft house with a full garage and loft normally takes two. With 3.4m of floor and 1.7m of height to fill, photos of every room tell you which before you commit.
What do house removals not take?
The van does not carry gas or hard-wired appliances, cookers or dishwashers. Old furniture is not taken off your hands either. For things you are leaving behind, East Riding of Yorkshire Council runs a bulky waste collection you book online.
Is dismantling furniture extra?
No. Taking down beds and flat-pack wardrobes at the old house, and putting them up again in the new rooms, is included, which matters on a narrow Beverley terrace stair.
