The trade side of this town is tidy: Ryefield Business Park and Marrtree Business Park off Belton Road, Ryefield Court beside them, and the Aire Valley units strung along the A629 towards Steeton and Keighley. Loading there is a booked slot and a goods-out door. Getting through town afterwards needs more thought, because the Leeds and Liverpool Canal runs straight through the middle and the road bridges over it are genuine pinch points.

Kirkgate is the main shopping street and it is narrow, parked both sides and tight for a long-wheelbase van; Briggate and Elliott Street are worse. Frontages there are narrow and most cottages have a step up from the pavement, so measure the doorway before ordering an assembled wardrobe rather than after. Up on the newer estates off Hawber Lane and Howden Road it is drive-up work and a straight carry in.
