The car park to aim for is Bronte Village off Sun Street: around 300 spaces and, crucially, no height barrier, which is the one thing a Transit LWB needs. Gas Street, the Museum car park and West Lane are the other council options, and Changegate is privately run. From any of them it is a walk up. The weavers' cottages and through-terraces on Main Street and Changegate are often three storeys with the front door on the setts and no rear access at all.

Timing matters more here than in most places we cover. Coach and tourist traffic chokes the village at weekends and during the Bronte and 1940s weekend events, and the car parks fill early, so a weekday morning is worth asking for. Out towards Stanbury, Lumbfoot and Penistone Hill the lanes are narrow, walled to the kerb and run on passing places - fine with a long van if nobody is in a hurry, awkward if they are.
