So almost everything comes up from Bradford or across from the Brighouse direction, and the roadside trade and commercial units along the A644 corridor are a regular collection point on the way in.

The old millworkers' through-terraces and back-to-backs along High Street put their front doors straight onto a busy road, with rear yards reached only by narrow ginnels. That is the whole job in a sentence: a wardrobe comes out of the back of the van, crosses a live carriageway and goes through a single door onto a Victorian staircase. The A647 and A644 crossroads at the Albert Memorial is a tight pinch point with little room to pull in, so we work off a side street instead.
