York Road, Wheatley Hall Road or Lakeside: collecting Doncaster furniture
North of the river, the stores off Newcomen Road and Telford Road by York Road include ScS, Sofology, Oak Furnitureland, JYSK, Dreams and Currys, with Bensons for Beds on Centurion Retail Park nearby. They sit close to the A638, so an order goes out towards Bentley, Scawsby or Sprotbrough without crossing the centre. Ask the store to have the order at the collection point, with the order number, before the van arrives.
On the east side, Wheatley Hall Road carries Dunelm at Crompton Retail Park and the Wheatley shopping park, an easy run to Wheatley Hills, Intake or Armthorpe. To the south, Lakeside Village on Carriage Drive has outlet furniture shops such as Lakeside Furniture Direct and Baytree Interiors, by White Rose Way for Bessacarr, Cantley and Balby. Wherever it comes from, the price includes carrying it in, so measure the doors and the stairs at home first.
Before your Doncaster furniture order is collected
- Send the store, the order number and the time it will be ready
- Measure the front door, the hall turn and the stair width against the item
- Clear a path to the room and decide where the piece is going
- Say if the order is flat-packed, as boxes travel and carry differently from a made-up piece
- If it is coming from Lakeside Village, give the shop name, since the outlet has many units on one car park

The size and weight of the order, the distance from the store and the stairs or narrow doors at your end set one fixed price, agreed before the van sets off. See how we quote for the full breakdown.
Furniture Delivery in Doncaster: your questions
Can you collect from a store on York Road the same day?
When the diary allows, yes. Make sure the order is ready for collection and send the order number, and the van is booked for the first free slot.
Will you carry the furniture upstairs?
Yes. Carrying it into the room is part of the job, including stairs, so tell us the floor and whether there is a lift.
Can you take my old sofa away when the new one comes?
No. Nothing old leaves in the van. City of Doncaster Council's bulky item collection, or Doncaster Refurnish for furniture that can be reused, are the routes to book.
Can a piece bought in Doncaster go back to Bradford?
Yes. The van can load at a York Road or Lakeside store and take it 41 miles to a West Yorkshire address, priced as one fixed run.
