Collected from a Horsefair or Park Road shop, carried to the room
A shop in the town centre sits on the one-way loop, so collecting from Horsefair means stopping in a bay or a side street and trolleying out, timed for when the shop can hand it over. Park Road is easier: Racecourse Retail Park, Wickes and the other stores there have open car parks next to the main road, so a dresser or a flat-packed wardrobe can be loaded at the door. Give the order number and the name on it when you book.
At the Pontefract end, the house decides the pace. New-build stairs on the Prince of Wales estate are straight and wide enough for most pieces; terraces west of the centre have tighter halls and a turn at the top. Boxed flat-pack is carried in and stacked in the right room, but building new flat-pack is not part of the service. A piece that is already built goes in whole, or comes apart where it was made to.
Before your furniture is collected
- Send the store, the order number and the collection time or desk, and confirm the goods are ready
- Measure the tightest point on the route into the room, especially the turn at the top of the stairs
- Clear a space in the room and a path to it before the van arrives
- Second-hand pieces from a private seller can be collected on the same trip if they are on the way
- Tell us about any steps, such as a house reached from Ass Hill or Stony Hill, so the carry is planned

Furniture Delivery in Pontefract: your questions
Can you collect from a shop on Horsefair?
Yes. The van waits in the nearest legal bay, and the piece is trolleyed out once the shop is ready. Give the shop's collection time and the name on the order.
Will you build flat-pack furniture I have just bought?
No. New flat-pack is carried to the room you want and left boxed. Beds and wardrobes you already own can be taken apart and rebuilt when they move house.
Can you bring two items from different shops?
Yes, if both are ready. Tell us both collection points; two stops in Pontefract, or one in town and one in Leeds, can be one trip at one fixed price.
