Staveley: what to know before moving day
Staveley has 15 listed buildings, all Grade II. Staveley Mill, a three-storey former corn mill, is now housing, and its granary and a cottage beside it are listed too. The Red House dates from 1754, Manor Farmhouse has a timber-framed core, and Loftus Hill is a small late 17th-century country house. All Saints' Church was built in 1864, and the Royal Oak pub and Staveley & Copgrove Village Hall are on Main Street.
The disused railway line runs south-east of the village, and Staveley Nature Reserve spreads beside Minskip Road and Wath Lane with its lagoons and bird hides. Residential closes include Spellow Crescent, Spellow Grove, Pinfold Green and Barley Court.
How the van gets to Staveley
Main Street is the village road, with Minskip Road, Arkendale Road, Wath Lane and Occaney Lane leading out to the farms and neighbouring villages. From Knaresborough the van takes the A6055 through Ferrensby and turns off onto the lanes to Staveley.

Why was Staveley's old station called Copgrove?
When it opened on the Pilmoor, Boroughbridge and Knaresborough Railway it was called Staveley, but from 1881 it took the name of nearby Copgrove to avoid confusion with Staveley in Derbyshire. The line is now disused and forms part of the landscape south-east of the village.
