Lower Wyke: what to know before moving day
The hamlet's oldest building is The Old Manor House, dated 1614 and extended in 1687 and 1694. It is Grade II* listed: gritstone, double gables on the south front and mullioned windows of up to seven lights. The house is on Lower Wyke Lane, the hamlet's own road, with Lower Wyke Green and Chapel Fold leading off it.
North of the A58, the housing streets are laid out around Whitehall Avenue, Shirley Avenue, Shirley Crescent, Tor Avenue and Methuen Oval, where Shirley Manor Primary Academy is. Cygnet Hospital Wyke lies to the south-west. Lower Wyke is counted as part of the Wyke ward, so bins and council tax go through Bradford Council.
How the van gets to Lower Wyke
