Long Marston: what to know before moving day
The listed houses are mostly red brick rather than stone. Long Marston Hall, the manor house that was Oliver Cromwell's headquarters during the battle and was later rebuilt, is red brick and Grade II* listed; The Old Thatch, 16th century, still has a thatched roof; and Lodore and The Old Post Office on Angram Road are an early 18th-century brick pair. All Saints' Church, Grade I, is built of cobble with a stone tower.
Newer homes are on closes such as Saddlers Way, Manor Chase, Hall Farm Court and Well House Close. The Sun Inn at the crossroads has been closed since 2021, and the Methodist chapel was demolished in 2011 for a private house.
