For anything travelling north or south, this is a gift of a location: the A1(M) runs along the edge of the town, so a consignment carrying on beyond it is on the motorway within a minute of leaving the address. Coming from Bradford, though, the journey is all A-road through Pool, Harewood and Collingham, and the two usable exits are junctions forty-five and forty-six. Overshoot one with a deadline in your hand and it is several miles before there is anywhere to turn round.
