Holt Park: what to know before moving day
The estate was planned as a new village by the developer Norman Ashton and Leeds City Council, half private housing and half council housing. The private side is detached and semi-detached 1970s houses. The council side is two-storey terraces, end bungalows and flats of one to four bedrooms, set in cul-de-sacs off Holtdale Approach and joined by alleyways and footpaths, with some three-storey blocks run by a housing association. Where a front door is only reachable on foot, tell us which close the van can stand in and roughly how far it is to carry, and say if a flat is on an upper floor.
The district centre is the landmark everyone knows: an Asda that has anchored it since the early 1970s, the bus terminus and the High Farm, a pub made from the 17th-century farmhouse the estate was built around. Holt Park Active, the leisure centre, is close by, and Ralph Thoresby School and Holt Park Library moved to a new site off the southern part of Holtdale Approach in 2007. The Tinshill BT Tower stands over the whole estate.
How the van gets to Holt Park
Holtdale Approach, the estate's spine road, leaves Otley Old Road, and Holt Lane runs from Cookridge Lane past Holt Park Road and Heathfield. From Bradford the van comes over by Leeds Bradford Airport on the A658 and then east along Otley Old Road through Cookridge. The Kenworthy, Holt Farm and Holtdale closes all share similar names, so the exact one saves a detour.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 25 to 35 minutes. That is an estimate from route data, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.

The 24 starts at the Holt Park shopping centre, where the estate's bus station is, and many homes are a short walk from it rather than on a road. Give us your close name and house number, not the bus stop.
Is Holt Park run by Leeds council or a housing association?
Both are present. The council side of the estate is largely still Leeds City Council stock, some homes have been bought privately, and several three-storey blocks of flats belong to a housing association. Check with your landlord about keys and any rules on moving days.
