Rastrick: what to know before moving day
The village still has two ends by name. Top o' t'Town is the area around St Matthew's Church on Church Street, and Bottom o' t'Town is around the Junction pub, with Ogden Lane between them, where the old Town Board had its offices and lock-up. Church Street, Crowtrees Lane, Bramston Street and Thornhill Road all carry the A643, and Rastrick Library is on Crowtrees Lane.
Away from the main road, street names mark out the different parts: Castlefields Road, Carr Green Lane, Close Lea and Longroyde Close. How the van gets to Rastrick
From Bradford the van comes down the A641 to Brighouse, then takes the A643 over the Calder on Rastrick Bridge and up through the village; beyond Rastrick the same road carries on to Ainley Top and junction 23 of the M62. Is Brighouse railway station actually in Rastrick?
Yes. The station named Brighouse is on the Rastrick side of the river, near St John the Divine church off Gooder Lane. It reopened in 2000 and has trains to Leeds via Dewsbury, to Bradford Interchange via Halifax and to Manchester Victoria.
Why does a Rastrick address point to Huddersfield?
