Henshaw Lane is the spine, with Henshaw Avenue, Henshaw Crescent and Henshaw Mews off it and Church Street, Church Crescent and Barfield Avenue towards the parish church of St John the Evangelist. The railway from Guiseley opened in 1894 and closed in 1964. It crossed Henshaw Lane on a bridge that can still be seen, and Yeadon station stood just past it, near the Station Inn, in what is now a council storage yard. From Bradford the A658 runs up through Apperley Bridge and Rawdon and becomes Green Lane at Henshaw's eastern edge, roughly 15 to 30 minutes in all. Henshaw Lane itself joins the A65 New Road at its western end, and Harper Lane leads off it towards the centre of Yeadon.
