Bramham: what to know before moving day
The older houses in the centre are built of magnesian limestone quarried in the parish; Bramham stone was even used for ornaments on the vaults of York Minster. A large part of the village is a conservation area, and the land outside the built-up area is green belt. Front Street, High Street, Town Hill and Church Hill make up the old core around All Saints Church, parts of which date from about 1150. Newer housing is in streets such as Lyndon Way, Lyndon Avenue, Milnthorpe Way and Freely Fields.
Bramham Park, a Grade I listed house of 1698 with a 500-acre landscaped park, is 2 miles south-west of the village. It hosts the Bramham Horse Trials every June and the Leeds Festival over the August Bank Holiday weekend, so avoid those dates for a move if you can, or tell us early. The medical centre on Clifford Road, the village hall, the post office and the Red Lion and Swan pubs are handy landmarks.
How the van gets to Bramham
The A1(M) passes right by the village. From Bradford the van crosses Leeds and heads out towards Wetherby, then comes into Bramham on Wetherby Road, Clifford Road or Aberford Road. Paradise Way, the newer access road, crosses the site of the 1408 Battle of Bramham Moor, and Thorner Road is the other way out.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 40 to 55 minutes. That is an estimate from route data, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.

Why is Bramham busy in late August?
The Leeds Festival has been held in the grounds of Bramham Park every August Bank Holiday weekend since 2003. Roads around the village get much busier, so a move that weekend needs more time, or a different date.
