Same-Day Courier in Ossett

Almost all of this run is motorway, which is why it is one of the more predictable urgent jobs we do. M606 onto the M62 eastbound, off at junction twenty-eight and down the A653 into town: twelve miles, thirty to forty minutes, and very little of it at the mercy of a set of lights.

Market days at the Town Hall, mill lanes at Flushdyke

Ossett still has working industry, and it is spread over several separate sites rather than one park. Sandbeds Trading Estate and Silkwood Park are the obvious ones; Ashley Industrial Estate and Longlands sit down at Flushdyke on Wakefield and Dewsbury Road; and the Healey mill district still runs, with Ings Mill, the Burmatex carpet tile works and Ossett Brewery on lanes that lorries use all day. A postcode on its own is rarely enough, so we ask which site and which gate.

In the centre the constraint is the market. Traders fill the Market Place all day on Tuesday and again on Friday, close to forty of them, which takes away the kerb space in front of the Town Hall exactly where a shop or office delivery would want to stand. Parking here is otherwise unusually kind to a van, free around the Market Place and Ventnor Way, so a Wednesday or Thursday slot, or an early start, makes an awkward drop simple.

What Ossett same-day courier usually involves

  • Twelve miles from Bradford, mostly motorway via the M606 and M62 junction twenty-eight, thirty to forty minutes
  • The A650 through Tong Street and Drighlington is the back-road alternative when the M62 is stopped, but it is the slower option
  • Sandbeds, Silkwood Park, Ashley and Longlands are separate sites, so we need the estate name as well as the postcode
  • Tuesday and Friday markets take the Market Place from half eight, so central deliveries are easier on the other days or first thing
  • Storrs Hill Road up to South Ossett is a steep, narrow climb and a loaded van takes the longer way round

Where in Ossett we work

  • Sandbeds Trading Estatetrade and stock deliveries with room to reverse a long van to a door
  • Silkwood Parkbusiness addresses on the motorway side of town, quick in and quick out
  • Ashley Industrial Estate, Flushdykeengineering and workshop drops where a part has to arrive before the shift ends
  • Healey mill districtworking mills including Ings Mill and the Burmatex works, on lanes shared with lorries all day
  • Ossett Brewerycellar and equipment deliveries that have to land at an agreed time
  • Market Place and the Town Hallshops and offices in the centre, straightforward outside market days

If your street isn't listed it's almost certainly still covered, Ossett and the surrounding WF5 postcodes are all inside our normal working area.

Common Ossett runs

  • Bradford to Ossetttwelve miles by the M606, M62 and A653, thirty to forty minutes
  • Ossett to Wakefield or Dewsburya short onward hop, so two drops often fit one booking
  • Ossett back to Bradford the same afternoona collection from Flushdyke returned to a Bradford workshop before it shuts

What it costs

What sets the price is urgency and where in town the address sits, since a motorway-side estate and a mill lane at Flushdyke take different amounts of time to get in and out of. There's no travel surcharge for coming to Ossett from Bradford, and you get the price before we set off, not after. See how we quote for the full breakdown.

Frequently asked questions: same-day courier in Ossett

How long does a Bradford to Ossett courier run take?

Twelve miles and thirty to forty minutes on a normal day, nearly all of it on the M606 and M62 to junction twenty-eight. Because it is mostly motorway it is one of the more predictable runs we do, which matters when something has to be somewhere before a fixed cut-off.

Can you deliver to the Market Place on a market day?

We can, but it is worth avoiding if the timing is flexible. Tuesday and Friday markets fill the Market Place with traders all day and take away the kerb space outside the Town Hall. Book early in the morning, or on another day, and the same delivery is far quicker to complete.

Do you deliver to the industrial estates at Flushdyke?

Yes, regularly. Ashley Industrial Estate and Longlands sit on Wakefield and Dewsbury Road at Flushdyke, on mill lanes that lorries use all day. Tell us the unit, the gate and the goods-in cut-off when you book, and the item stays on our van from your door to theirs.
