Stanningley: what to know before moving day
Two roads run side by side through Stanningley. The old one, Stanningley Road and Town Street, holds most of the shops, pubs and eateries; the Stanningley Bypass carries the A647 traffic, and a stretch of it became the UK's first high occupancy vehicle lane in 1998. Richardshaw Lane and Lidget Hill (the B6155) climb south towards Pudsey. Owlcotes Shopping Centre, with its Asda, Marks and Spencer and B&M, is the easiest meeting point if a driver needs directions.
Plenty of the buildings date from the 19th and early 20th centuries. St Thomas's Church (1841) is Grade II listed, the lodge at Stanningley Park was built in 1894, and the Pavilion Picture House of 1920, later a bingo hall and business centre, has been private homes since about 2020. The side streets are rows of terraces such as Gladstone Terrace, Victoria Terrace and Rosebery Terrace. With a Town Street address, look for somewhere off the main road for the van to stand before the day.
How the van gets to Stanningley
The A647 is the obvious route from Bradford: it heads east out of the city and becomes the Stanningley Bypass, with slip roads down to the old road. Bradford Road, the B6157, is the slower parallel line through the middle. From Pudsey the B6155 comes up Lidget Hill and Richardshaw Lane.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 15 to 25 minutes. That is an estimate from route data, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.

Stanningley or Bramley and Stanningley ward?
Both appear. Wikipedia places the district in the Bramley and Stanningley ward of Leeds, but postcodes.io puts LS28 6BX, near the middle of Stanningley, in Pudsey ward, and the streets nearby are split between three wards. For bins and council tax it is Leeds City Council either way.
Does New Pudsey station count as Stanningley?
More or less. New Pudsey is the nearest station, and the map shows it on the western side of Stanningley, not far from the Owlcotes Centre. It is useful for anyone travelling to the new address by train while the van brings the furniture.
