A short hop to Leeds, and why the car does not cut it
The distance flatters the job. Sitting midway between Bradford and Leeds, the student streets at either end are a quick run down the Stanningley Bypass, so the instinct is to load the family car and make a few trips. Then you count what actually has to go: a mattress, a desk chair, a bike, a drying rack, a term of pans and a guitar. That is three or four runs through the A647 signals, and the bike still ends up on a roof bar.
Getting it out of the house is the part that takes the time. The stone back-to-backs off Town Street in Farsley and around Lowtown have no rear access at all, so a mattress comes down a turning staircase and out of the front door onto the pavement, with whatever is parked outside deciding where the van stands. Robin Lane and the streets by the market are tight enough that we usually load from a side street and barrow the rest.

Can you store my things over the summer?
We do not have a warehouse, so no. What we do is the run. Take everything to whichever storage unit you have booked when the tenancy ends, and collect it again in September. Both halves are ordinary van jobs and each is priced on the load and the time.
