Two cities, one bypass, and the front door at the end of it
Buyers here have the best catchment in West Yorkshire and the worst luck with parking. Anything listed in Leeds or Bradford is fifteen to twenty-five minutes away, which is why so many Pudsey jobs are cross-town runs rather than local pickups. The bypass is the quick bit. The slow bit is the signalised junctions at peak, and the Owlcotes Centre car park, which has height barriers, so it is no good as a meeting point for a long wheelbase van.
Then there is where the thing has to go. Stone back-to-backs off Town Street in Farsley and around Lowtown have no rear access at all, so a corner sofa comes in through a single front door that opens onto the pavement. Robin Lane and the streets by the market and bus station are tight and heavily parked, and the lanes down to Fulneck and Farsley Beck Bottom drop away sharply. Measure the door before you bid, not after.
What Pudsey marketplace & ebay collection usually involves
- Send the listing link and both postcodes and we work out the order of the run, which matters when the seller is Leeds and you are Pudsey
- Back-to-backs at Lowtown and off Town Street have one door and a staircase that turns, so tell us the item width and we will tell you honestly whether it goes in
- Owlcotes Centre has height barriers on the car park, so we arrange handovers on the street or on a forecourt instead
- The three small council car parks on Robin Lane, Lidgett Hill and by the leisure centre are mostly short-stay bays now, so town-centre collections are timed rather than chanced
- Evening slots suit sellers who are only free once they are back from work, and the bypass is quieter for it
Where in Pudsey we work
- Lowtownstone back-to-backs with the front door on the pavement and nowhere to stage a big item
- Town Street, Farsleytime-limited bays and double yellows, so the van goes on a side street and the item comes to it
- Calverleyfirst-time buyers furnishing a stone terrace, the classic reason to be buying second-hand at all
- Swinnow and Troydalepost-war estates with off-street parking, the straightforward end of a Pudsey collection
- Grangefield Industrial Estate, Richardshaw Roaddesks, racking and office chairs listed by units on the estate
- Sunny Bank Mills, Farsleymill studio and workshop pickups, where access is through a shared yard
If your street isn't listed it's almost certainly still covered, Pudsey and the surrounding LS28 postcodes are all inside our normal working area.
Common Pudsey runs
- Leeds to Pudseythe standard marketplace direction, straight back along the A647
- Bradford to Farsleyfive miles, often done the same day the listing goes up
- Pudsey to Calverley or Stanningleyan in-town hop when a neighbour two streets over is the seller
What it costs
Pudsey collections are priced on the whole run, so the seller's postcode matters far more than yours does. There's no travel surcharge for coming to Pudsey from Bradford, and you get the price before we set off, not after. See how we quote for the full breakdown.
Frequently asked questions: marketplace & ebay collection in Pudsey
The seller is in Leeds and I am in Pudsey. Is that one job or two?
One job. We collect at the seller's address and deliver to yours, and you are charged once for the whole run. It is five miles from Bradford and a short hop from most of Leeds, so this is one of the quickest collections we do.
The seller has already taken the wardrobe apart badly. Will you still take it?
Yes, and it is normal. Loose panels and a bag of fittings travel fine wrapped in blankets and strapped flat. Tell us roughly how many pieces there are so we leave the space, and keep the screws with you rather than loose in the van.
Can you collect after six when the seller finishes work?
Yes. We work 8am to 8pm, seven days, and evening collections are common here because sellers want the item gone and buyers are at work all day. The bypass is easier at that hour too.
