Moving in Knotford: what to know first
Knotford is mostly fields, sports grounds and the garden centre, so the homes are few: Moor Drive, a short cul-de-sac off Pool Road, and the odd house or farm along the lanes. Knotford Nook is a surfaced lane, East Busk Lane is partly paved, and Bridle Road is an unpaved bridleway that a van cannot use. Towards the town, Mill Way is partly one-way.
The fields between the road and the River Wharfe are low meadow, and Otley's sewage works and the old tip sit out here too. If you are moving into one of the few riverside properties, ask about past flooding and access in wet weather before the day.
Knotford: the local picture
Moor Drive is the one residential street, a short cul-de-sac off Pool Road. Around it are Otley Town football club at the Old Showfield, the Old Otliensians rugby club and Otley Garden Centre on Pool Road. Further east, the lane called Knotford Nook leaves the main road towards Brick Elm Farm and the flooded gravel workings, now a fishing water and a noted spot for birdwatching.
Towards the River Wharfe the map still names the old meadows, among them Stake Field, Lime Kiln Close, Styefoot and Camp Field, and Gallows Hill Nature Reserve with its community orchard lies on the town side. South of the road, Midgley House farmhouse is 18th century and Grade II listed, with a barn carrying a dovecote in its gable and the remains of a gin gang.
How the van gets to Knotford
Pool Road is the A659, running east from Otley towards Pool-in-Wharfedale with a 40 mph limit near the town that rises to 60 further out, so homes here are reached by turning off it rather than stopping on it. From Bradford the van comes into Otley on the A6038 and out along Pool Road, roughly 30 to 40 minutes in all.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 30 to 40 minutes. That is an estimate, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.

The lane is surfaced as far as the farms and the old gravel workings, so usually yes. Give the house or farm name, since there are few numbers out here, and say where the van can turn.
