Moving in Hazlewood: what to know first
Hazlewood is a handful of farms and houses, Low House Farm, Lane Side, the cottages and Hill End among them, with no village street, so each move is planned round one yard or gateway. Storriths Lane, the way in, is a single-track lane at the national limit, and Hazelwood Lane off it is a minor lane. The A59 below the hamlet runs with three lanes and no lights at 50 to 60 mph, so the van turns off it rather than stopping, and the older winding road survives to the north-west.
Hazlewood: the local picture
The spelling trips people up: the parish and the hamlet are Hazlewood, but the lane is Hazelwood Lane, a name taken from the 1853 Ordnance Survey sheet. It runs east from the junction with Storriths Lane at Low House Farm to Hill End. Along it are Hazlewood Cottages, built in 1824 as four cottages and now two houses, with dated stone tablets over the middle doors, and Hill End Farmhouse and barn, dated 1809.
The other names nearby are farms and woods: Hill Top Farm, Lane Side, Black Intake Plantation and an old sandstone quarry. This is also no place to rely on a postcode pin alone. Send the farm or house name with the postcode, and say whether the van can turn in the yard, because reversing a loaded Transit along a single-track lane is slow.
How the van gets to Hazlewood
Storriths Lane leaves the A59 east of the Bolton Bridge roundabout and runs north past Low House Farm, where Hazelwood Lane turns off. Storriths Lane is single-track with farm entrances along it. From Bradford the van comes through Ilkley and Addingham to Bolton Bridge, then along the A59, roughly 40 to 50 minutes.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 40 to 50 minutes. That is an estimate, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.

Is this the Hazlewood near Tadcaster with the castle hotel?
No. That Hazlewood is in Stutton with Hazlewood parish, where Hazlewood Castle is now a hotel and spa. This one is in Wharfedale, in the parish of Hazlewood with Storiths near Bolton Abbey, with BD23 6 postcodes such as BD23 6JG.
Is the turn off the A59 for Hazlewood tricky with a van?
It needs care. The A59 here is a fast, unlit road with three lanes, and Storriths Lane is single-track. The van waits for a clear gap rather than stopping on the main road, so allow a few extra minutes in the timing.
