Moving in Storiths: what to know first
Storiths is a few stone houses and farms, Town End, Hill Top Farm, Storiths House and Back O' Th' Hill Farm with its café and hostel, spread along the lane rather than grouped on a street. Both Storriths Lane and Low Storiths Lane are single-track paved lanes at the national limit, so the van pulls into a yard or gateway to load and anyone coming the other way may need to reverse to a gap. Gill Bank Quarries and Storiths Crag are close by.
Storiths: the local picture
Two of the houses are listed. Town End Farmhouse is 17th-century, three bays of stone with chamfered doorways and mullioned windows, and Adam Slack Cottage is a smaller two-bay house of the mid-18th century. Storiths House and Back O' Th' Hill Farm, which also runs a hostel, are the other names to give, and Storiths Crag is close by.
Towards the river are the Cavendish Pavilion, run by the Bolton Abbey estate, the Dales Way path and an access point for Barden Moor and Barden Fell. Low Storiths Lane is designated for bicycles and horses as well as cars, so on moving day allow for riders and walkers, and pull fully into a yard or gateway to load.
How the van gets to Storiths
Storriths Lane (the map spells the road with a double r) comes up from the A59 past Hazlewood and carries on as Low Storiths Lane, one lane wide, paved and at the national 60 mph limit. From Bradford the van heads for Bolton Bridge by way of Ilkley and Addingham, turns east on the A59 and then north on Storriths Lane, roughly 40 to 50 minutes.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 40 to 50 minutes. That is an estimate, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.

Frequently asked questions: man with a van in Storiths
Maps call the road Storriths Lane but my address says Storiths. Which should the sat-nav use?
Both point to the same place. The map spells the lane Storriths Lane; the hamlet and parish are Storiths. Use the postcode, for example BD23 6HU, and the house or farm name, and the van will come up the right lane.
Can the van wait in the car park at the Cavendish Pavilion?
No. The pavilion is run by the Bolton Abbey estate, and the car park beside it is for customers and charges a fee. The van loads at your house or farm, so tell us where it can pull in off the lane.
Will walkers and riders be on the lane on moving day?
Quite likely. Low Storiths Lane is designated for bicycles and horses as well as cars, and it leads towards the Cavendish Pavilion, the Dales Way and an access point for Barden Moor and Barden Fell. The van takes the lane slowly.
