Deighton Bar: what to know before moving day
The Barratt streets have woodland names: Deerstone Ridge, Foxwood Walk, Otterwood Bank, Badger Wood Glade, Cedar Covert, Beech Spinney and Hunters Walk. Kirk Deighton's own history refers to this side of Wetherby as the Badgerwood area. The oldest houses are not on the estate at all but in a row of terraces on Deighton Road, and Deighton Gates Primary School is on the Ainsty side.
Sandbeck Industrial Estate lies to the south-east, and a small retail strip at its edge has an Aldi and a Screwfix. Deighton Bar is also a bus terminus: the X98 and X99 run from Leeds City Square through Collingham to it, and the Harrogate Bus Company links it with Leeds and Harrogate.
