Salterhebble: what to know before moving day
Calderdale Royal Hospital opened in 2001 on the site of the old Halifax General Hospital and has Calderdale's A&E department and the Calderdale Birth Centre. The canal's Halifax Arm, usually called the Salterhebble Arm, ends at Salterhebble Basin beside the locks; the middle one of the three is among the shortest locks on the connected waterways.
