Moorside (Follifoot): what to know before moving day
The Rudding Park estate shapes the area. Rudding Park House, started after 1805, is now a hotel with a golf course, a holiday park and a restaurant, and the grounds were improved by Humphry Repton for Lord Loughborough. Most of the estate is now cut off from Follifoot village by the A658 Harrogate bypass. On Rudding Lane stands the Traveller's Rest pub, and Crimple Beck runs to the south under Colin's Bridge.
North of Rudding Lane the map shows Stonefall Cemetery, the Great Yorkshire Showground and a Sainsbury's filling station on the A661, Wetherby Road. The hamlet of Crimple is marked close by. If your move falls during a big event at the showground, mention it when you book.
How the van gets to Moorside (Follifoot)
The A658 bypass, named John Metcalf Way on this stretch, is the fast road past Moorside. Rudding Lane and Colin's Hill are the lanes past the houses, with Crimple Lane leading off towards the beck. From Bradford the route data follows the A658 through Pool and round the bypass before turning into Rudding Lane.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 40 to 50 minutes. That is an estimate from route data, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.
