High Grantley: what to know before moving day
The parish has five listed buildings. Grantley Hall, an 18th-century Grade II* country house built by Thomas Norton and his son Fletcher Norton, first Baron Grantley, is now a hotel about a kilometre south-east of the village. In the village itself are Grantley Old Hall Farmhouse, three storeys and late 17th century, and School House of 1835, with Low Grantley Farmhouse and Rose Farmhouse down at Low Grantley.
Around the village street are Grantley Village Hall, the Grantley Arms and Fountains Church of England Primary School, with farmyards such as Old Hall Farm and Grantley Thwaites. Woods and plantations line the valley sides, among them Ruddings Plantation, Ten Acre Plantation and Holborn Wood. Grantley Sawmills, a local employer, is just outside the parish on the far bank of the Skell.

A lane runs north from the B6265, the Ripon to Pateley Bridge road, into the village, where the limit drops to 30 mph; Gate Bridge Road and the Holborn Bridge crossings are to the west.
