There is no motorway junction anywhere near this town, and that changes how a national job has to be planned. Southbound, the A658 runs past Leeds Bradford Airport, Pool-in-Wharfedale and Huby before the road opens out. Eastbound, Wetherby Road takes you out towards the A1. Both are slow with a full load, and when the Convention Centre or the Great Yorkshire Showground has an event on, Wetherby Road and Ripon Road stop moving.
