Follifoot: what to know before moving day
At the top of the village are the crossroads with an Anglian cross, restored in the 19th century, and the south gatehouse of Rudding Park; the listed Rudding Gates are a round-arched gateway flanked by lodges. The village has two Sam Smith's pubs, the Radcliffe Arms and the Harewood Arms, one shop with a post office and a small school opposite. St Joseph and St James' Church, opened in 1848 on land given by the owner of Rudding Park, is on Plompton Road and is Grade II listed.
Twenty buildings in the parish are listed. Among the homes, the Dower House is a late 17th-century gritstone house now divided into three, Park Croft is two early 18th-century cottages made into one, and Park Side, The Priory and Hunters Lodge are late 18th century. How the van gets to Follifoot
The A658 from Bradford runs past Leeds Bradford Airport and on round the south of Harrogate as the bypass, which cuts Follifoot off from the main part of the Rudding Park estate. Rudding Lane, with an 18th-century milepost on its north-west side, Haggs Road and Follifoot Road are the lanes around the village, and St Joseph and St James' Church on Plompton Road is an easy landmark to give.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 35 to 50 minutes. That is an estimate from route data, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.
