Eastburn: what to know before moving day
The B6265 is the village street, called Main Road here, and it carries a 7.5-tonne weight limit. Along it are the Inn at Eastburn, Eastburn Stores, the post office and a chip shop, with Eastburn Primary School just off it on Green Close. The village also has a small chapel, a farm, a factory and a former mill building now shared by several businesses.
Old stone houses sit among the later streets. Eastburn House is a listed mid 18th-century house, and the barn north-east of it carries a date plaque of 1773; Ivy House and 23 Lyon Road are listed late 18th-century houses. Around them the village is mostly avenues and drives: Vincent Avenue, James Avenue, Bracken Road, Moorside Avenue, Heywood Drive, Haxton Boulevard and Hargreaves Way.
How the van gets to Eastburn
From Bradford the van runs up the A650 to Keighley and on along the A629, which since 1989 has bypassed Eastburn and Steeton as a dual carriageway. The B6265, the old line of the A629, is the road into the village: it comes past the hospital as Skipton Road, where a 19th-century milestone stands outside number 52, and continues through Eastburn as Main Road.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 25 to 40 minutes. That is an estimate from route data, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.

Airedale. Older descriptions put the village in Bradford Council's Craven ward, but current postcode data from postcodes.io places BD20 8TZ in Airedale ward, in the parish of Steeton with Eastburn. Either way the council is Bradford, not North Yorkshire.
My new house is 'by Airedale Hospital'. Is that enough for the driver?
No. The hospital is a large site between Eastburn and Steeton with several car parks, and its address is Skipton Road. Give the house number, the street and the full postcode, and mention which side of the hospital you are on.
