Loading out of an Aire Valley terrace in September
Where the load starts matters more than where it's going. A family semi at Utley, Long Lee or Riddlesden has a drive and room to swing the doors open, and that job is done in an hour. A terrace on Fell Lane, Highfield or Guardhouse is a different story: steep, setted in places, parked nose to tail on both sides, with the only rear access down a back ginnel too narrow for anything but a barrow.
The other local detail worth knowing is the bridges. The canal and railway crossings around Ingrow and Riddlesden are low, and a high-sided van loaded to the roof does not want to find that out at the last minute, so we check the route before the day rather than trusting a satnav. Out of town it's the A650 down the valley through Bingley and Shipley, and onward from there.

No. Keighley College near the railway station is a further-education campus and non-residential, so undergraduates from here commute or move away to Bradford, Leeds and Huddersfield. Most of our student work in the town is loading a bedroom out in September and bringing it back in June.
Can you get a van down our terraced street?
Usually, though on the steeper rows off Fell Lane and Highfield it means double-parking briefly and working quickly. Send the street name when you book. If the gradient or the setts look bad we'll park at the top or bottom and barrow, which is safer than a loaded van on a wet camber.
Can you store my things over the summer?
We don't store anything ourselves, but we run to and from self-storage units regularly. Plenty of students here drop a room's worth into a unit in June and we collect it again in September, same van, one fixed price each way, arranged when you book.
