Calderdale College and University Centre Calderdale College run higher-education courses in the town, but neither has a hall of residence attached, so student housing here is ordinary shared terraces. King Cross, Pellon and Ovenden are where most of them are, and those are back-to-backs with no rear vehicle access whatsoever. Everything goes through the one front door, straight onto a busy through road.
The other half of the work is the run out. Somebody who grew up around Savile Park, Skircoat Green or Northowram has a bedroom's worth of belongings plus a bike and a desk chair, and a car makes two trips of that while a van makes one. We take the load to Huddersfield, Leeds, Bradford or a good deal further, then bring it home again in June, which is the busier of the two dates.
