Owlcotes: what to know before moving day
The Owlcotes Centre holds an Asda with a petrol station, a Marks and Spencer and a B&M, so a sofa or wardrobe bought nearby may only need a short hop. The homes around it are on Stanhall Avenue and Stanhall Mews, the Standale streets (Avenue, Rise, Crescent) and the Westdale streets (Grove, Mews, Drive, Rise, Road), with Highfield Road and Highfield Crescent close by.
Pudsey Primrose Hill Primary School and the West Dale Allotments are among the landmarks, with a patch of scrub called Wood Nook and the Leeds and Bradford railway line passing close by. New Pudsey station, opened in 1967 as a station for motorists, is near, and local buses run between the Owlcotes Centre and Leeds.
How the van gets to Owlcotes
Bradford Road, the B6157 and mapped at 20 mph, carries the old line of the A647 and gives Stanhall Avenue its only way in. The Stanningley bypass, the A647 dual carriageway built from the late 1960s, runs just north. From Bradford, the A647 heads straight here.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 15 to 25 minutes. That is an estimate from route data, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.
