Lowtown: what to know before moving day
Lowtown holds some of Pudsey's oldest buildings. Booth's Yard has late 17th-century stone cottages, later turned into shops and a wine bar, at numbers 3, 4 and 5, all Grade II listed; the cottage at the rear of 5 Low Town has a Tudor arched doorway, and 1 and 2 Tannery Yard, of about 1800, are listed too. Trinity Methodist Church of 1898 to 1899 and the former Crown Inn of 1833 add to the list.
Residential streets branch off on both sides: Clifton Hill, Clifton Road and Clifton Mews, Manor House Street, Studley Terrace, Mount Pleasant Road, and the Crimbles streets to the east. Pudsey Town Hall and the market, held on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, are a short walk away, and the bus station on Market Place has six stands. The Yorkshire cricketer John Tunnicliffe was born in Lowtown.
How the van gets to Lowtown
Lowtown is part of the B6154, which carries on as Church Lane one way and Hough Side Road the other, with Lidget Hill (B6155) leading off. Delph Hill, next to the shops, is unsurfaced, so the van loads from Lowtown or a paved side street. From Bradford the A647 to Stanningley and then Richardshaw Lane, the B6155, lead into Pudsey.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 15 to 30 minutes. That is an estimate from route data, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.

Is Lowtown busy on market days?
Pudsey market runs on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, close to the Town Hall, so those mornings bring more people and buses. Another day may be easier for a Lowtown move.

Booth's Yard and Tannery Yard are old courtyards, so the van usually stops on Lowtown and items are carried through. Send a photo of the entry so the carry can be judged.
