New Park: what to know before moving day
The terraces are the heart of it: Archie Street, Christina Street, Duncan Street and Baldwin Street, each with a rear lane behind, plus Omega Street, Electric Avenue, Euclid Avenue and Park Street. On a terrace the choice is often between the front door on the street and a back gate on the rear lane, so tell us which is easier to reach from where a van can stop, and how wide the gate is.
New Park Primary Academy is here, with Coppice Valley Primary and St Joseph's Catholic Primary close by. The trade side includes Bookers, Screwfix and the Oak Beck Road units. Before it closed in 1956, the Harrogate Gasworks Railway ran in tunnels under this part of town and came out above ground by New Park School, where the school later made the Secret Railway Garden to remember it.
How the van gets to New Park
The A59 Skipton Road and the A61 Ripon Road meet at the New Park roundabout, the easiest reference point for finding these streets. From Bradford the van takes the A658 to Harrogate and crosses to Skipton Road; the terraced streets open off the roads either side of the roundabout, and Oak Beck Road serves the trade units.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 40 to 55 minutes. That is an estimate from route data, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.
