Low Ackworth: what to know before moving day
Ackworth station stood in Low Ackworth on the road to East Hardwick and closed in 1951. What remains is a cluster of short streets off Station Road: Beaufort Mews, Beechwood Dale, Villa Close, York Place, The Court Way and Low Green, with Tan House Lane and Lee Lane leading out of it. How the van gets to Low Ackworth
Station Road leaves the A628 Pontefract Road at a traffic island with a listed 1801 guide post and runs east into Low Ackworth. Lee Lane, beyond the houses, is an unclassified lane with a 60 mph limit, so for an address out that way give directions from the Station Road end.
