A washer from Millbridge into a terrace kitchen
Heckmondwike Domestics has its shops at Millbridge, close to where the A62 meets the A638, so a machine bought there is a very short trip. In a terrace in Flush the kitchen is usually at the back, reached through the front room, so the machine goes in on a trolley with the doorways measured first. A standard washing machine is about 60cm wide; it is the narrowest internal door, not the front door, that usually needs checking.
A fridge freezer is the item to measure carefully. The van's load space is 1.7m high, so a tall fridge freezer is checked before booking, using the model's height. Where a house has a utility room or an attached garage, the machine can often go in that way instead of through the living room. Gas and hard-wired items such as cookers and dishwashers are not connected.
Preparing a Liversedge kitchen for a new appliance
- Measure the gap and every door on the route from the front door to the kitchen
- Defrost and dry an old fridge freezer the night before if it is being moved
- Turn off the water and unplug the old washer before the van arrives
- Washing machines: cold feed and waste hose reconnected where the fittings are standard
- Keep the transit bolts for a washer that is being moved house

Appliance Delivery in Liversedge: your questions
Can you connect my new washing machine?
Yes, the cold feed and waste hose, where the fittings are standard. Anything involving gas, electrics or new plumbing needs a qualified fitter.
Will a tall fridge freezer fit in the van?
Send the model's height first. The van is 1.7m high inside, so a tall one is checked before booking rather than on the day.
What happens to my old machine?
It is not taken away. It can be moved to the yard or garage, and Kirklees Council's bulky waste service collects white goods from homes.
Can you move a washing machine between two Liversedge houses?
Yes. Put the transit bolts back in if you still have them, drain the hoses into a bucket, and it travels strapped to the side. At the new house the cold feed and waste hose go back on where the fittings are standard.
