Collections at Junction 27, deliveries up Kirkgate
Birstall Shopping Park alone runs to around 600 spaces of free surface parking, and Junction 27 Retail Park next to it is ten units of bulky goods, so loading an appliance there is about as easy as loading gets. The traffic is the variable. Gelderd Road and Holden Ing Way queue badly at weekends with motorway shoppers, so a collection slot on a weekday morning saves more time than any clever route ever will.
The delivery end is usually kinder than most towns around here, and it is worth saying so. Nova, Fieldhead and Howden Clough are post-war estates with paths, gates and off-street space, which is trolley work rather than a wrestle. The exceptions are Kirkgate and the lanes round St Peter's, which climb the high ground and are parked tight on both sides, and the setted market place on a Thursday.
What Birstall appliance delivery & removal usually involves
- We collect from the Junction 27 retail parks and carry the appliance into the room it is going in, which a car boot and a friend cannot do
- The Thursday market takes the central kerb space around the Joseph Priestley statue in the setted market place, so centre drops are slotted around it
- Kirkgate and the lanes by St Peter's Church climb steeply and are parked both sides, the one real pinch point for a long-wheelbase van in this town
- Howden Clough drops away towards Morley, so the eastern approaches are steeper and narrower than the map makes them look
- Old machine out and away to a household waste recycling centre on the same visit if you want it, though we do not do house clearances or general rubbish

Frequently asked questions: appliance delivery & removal in Birstall
Can you collect something I have bought at Junction 27?
That is one of our regular Birstall jobs. Send the store, the order details and a collection time, and we will load it there, bring it to your address and carry it into the room it belongs in. The retail parks have plenty of free surface parking, so the loading end is rarely the hold-up.
Is Birstall an easy town for an appliance delivery?
Mostly, yes, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. The estates at Nova, Fieldhead and Howden Clough have paths and off-street space, so it is straight trolley work. The exceptions are the steep, tightly parked lanes at Kirkgate and around St Peter's, and the market place on a Thursday.
Will you take the old appliance when you deliver the new one?
Yes, if you say so at booking. Isolate it first, water off and plug out, and we will disconnect it, carry it out and take it to a household waste recycling centre on the same visit. Gas appliances have to be disconnected by a Gas Safe engineer before we can remove them.
