Moving in Upper Brockholes: what to know first
Upper Brockholes is on open ground between the A629 and Mixenden Reservoir. Lane Head Lane is the road through, tarmac all the way and two-lane in part, and the lanes that join it, Per Lane, White Gate and Field Head Lane, are surfaced too, so a long van can reach the old houses along them. Stod Fold, the brewery lane, is private beyond its gravel start, so tell us if your home is down it.
South-east of the hamlet, estate homes sit on short streets such as Field Head Way and Ogden View Close, and the Byland streets, Selby and Quarry Lane are 20 mph. A move here can mean a stone farmhouse on the lane, like Lane Head Farm with its two-storey gabled porch, or a modern house on the estate, so give the full address. Keighley Road, the A629, runs at 30 to 50 mph, so the van does not stop on it.
Upper Brockholes: the local picture
Its landmark is the Mount Sion chapel and house, founded in 1773 and rebuilt in 1815, listed at Grade II* for its round-arched doorways, sundial and rear apse, and now known as the Mount Zion Methodist Heritage Chapel. The walled burial ground has stone gate piers and wrought iron gates of about 1815. Lane Head Farm, a stone farmhouse of about 1700 with a two-storey gabled porch, is on the lane nearby.
Estate housing sits a short walk south-east around Heathmoor Park Road, Ogden View Close and Field Head Way, so a move here can mean either an old stone farmhouse or a modern estate house. Hebble Brook runs past to the south-west, with Mixenden Reservoir beyond, and Stod Fold, the lane to the brewery of that name, is a fine gravel track.
How the van gets to Upper Brockholes

From there Per Lane, White Gate and Field Head Lane lead to Lane Head Lane, and the whole trip from Bradford should take roughly 20 to 35 minutes.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 20 to 35 minutes. That is an estimate, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.
