Stone Chair: what to know before moving day
The stone chair is a Grade II listed guide post made of two upright stone slabs set at an angle and joined by an iron strap. Next to it, the Duke of York is a listed early 19th-century pub. A late 19th-century boundary stone opposite Score Hill marks the old line between Shelf Urban District and the Borough of Halifax, and a listed milestone stands on the A6036 Halifax Road.

How the van gets to Stone Chair
The A644 Brighouse and Denholme Gate Road and the A6036 Halifax Road meet at the Stone Chair Roundabout. The A6036 runs up through Shelf towards Bradford, and the A644 continues as Brighouse Road towards Brighouse. West Street and Hud Hill come straight off the A644 beside the pub.
