Around the estate: Poplars Farm Primary School is a few hundred metres to the north-east, Brow Wood is to the south-east, and the King George V Memorial Playing Fields are to the north-west. To the south, towards Canal Road, are trade and industrial sites, among them Arnold Laver, Manningham Sawmills and British Wool.
How the van gets to Poplars Park
Kings Road is the way in. It is a 40 mph road on this stretch and connects north to Swain House Road and Wrose Road, so from Five Lane Ends or Wrose you can reach Poplars Park Road without using Canal Road. From the city side, Canal Road, the A6037, runs north towards Shipley at 40 mph, with Stanley Road off it for Bolton Woods.
